Der CO₂-Schulrechner ist ein kostenloses Online-Tool von Greenpeace und dem Institut für Energie- und Umweltforschung, mit dem Schulen und Kitas die Klimabilanz ihrer Einrichtung ermitteln können. Nutzer geben verbrauchsbezogene Daten aus den Bereichen Strom, Wärme, Abfall, Wasser, Mobilität, Verpflegung und Beschaffung ein, und der Rechner erstellt übersichtliche Grafiken sowie eine CO₂-Gesamtbilanz. Dies dient als Grundlage, um Klimaschutzmaßnahmen zu planen, Wirkung zu verfolgen und die Einrichtung auf dem Weg zu mehr Nachhaltigkeit zu unterstützen

What is the resource about? (in English)

The CO₂ School Calculator is a free online tool from Greenpeace and the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu) that allows schools and kindergartens to calculate their climate footprint. Users enter data on electricity, heating, waste, water, mobility, food, and procurement, and the calculator produces clear charts and an overall CO₂ balance. This helps schools identify areas for climate action, plan measures, and track their impact on sustainability.

Why is the resource useful for VET actors?

Diese Ressource ist für VET-Akteure nützlich, weil sie ein praxisorientiertes Instrument zur CO₂-Bilanzierung von Bildungseinrichtungen bietet, das direkt im Unterricht, in Projekten oder der Schulentwicklung eingesetzt werden kann. Mit echtem Dateninput ermöglicht der Rechner das verknüpfen von Theorie und Praxis – z. B. im Bereich Energie- und Umweltmanagement, nachhaltige Beschaffung oder Mobilität.
