UN ORTO DI NOME EVA è un progetto di giardino educativo modulare e laboratorio all’aperto realizzato per riqualificare il cortile interno dell’Istituto Comprensivo 2 di Sora (FR). Il progetto, parte del programma PON Edugreen, consiste in sette aree di apprendimento “learning by doing” — moduli indipendenti che riproducono il ciclo agricolo (seminare, preparare il terreno, irrigare, compostare, ecc.) e offrono esperienze pratiche con piante, insetti e compost. Questa installazione permanente ma riconfigurabile trasforma uno spazio scolastico abbandonato in un ambiente didattico interattivo e aperto alla comunità, promuovendo sensibilità, conoscenze pratiche sulla natura e partecipazione collettiva.

What is the resource about? (in English)

UN ORTO DI NOME EVA (A Garden Named Eva) is a modular educational garden and open-air laboratory created to redevelop the internal courtyard of Istituto Comprensivo 2 in Sora, Italy. Part of the PON Edugreen programme, it comprises seven hands-on “learning by doing” areas — independent modules representing stages of the agricultural cycle (sowing, soil preparation, irrigation, composting, etc.) — giving students direct experience with plants, insects, compost and natural processes. This permanent yet reconfigurable installation transforms an abandoned school space into an interactive learning environment open to the community, fostering practical ecological knowledge and engagement.

Why is the resource useful for VET actors?

Questa risorsa è utile per gli attori della formazione professionale perché presenta un esempio concreto di apprendimento attivo e interdisciplinare che integra educazione ambientale, agricoltura, scienze naturali e competenze pratiche in un contesto reale come la scuola. Il progetto mostra come tecniche di progettazione modulare e attività “hands-on” possano essere impiegate per stimolare competenze come gestione del suolo, coltivazione, compostaggio e monitoraggio ecologico — tutte rilevanti in ambiti come agricoltura sostenibile, gestione paesaggistica, educazione ambientale e tecnologie verdi. Inoltre, l’approccio aperto alla comunità e la riconfigurabilità dei moduli offrono un modello di progettazione partecipata e apprendimento permanente che può ispirare progettazioni didattiche VET innovative.
